Algorand turns onchain activity into a 3-month-long adventure with new campaign

The Algorand Foundation is starting a new project called Algoland. This is a 13-week online adventure campaign aimed at helping the ecosystem grow by leading users through its best DApps while providing fun challenges and prizes. For any blockchain system, growth relies on a lively cycle: developers create interesting apps, and those apps bring in active users, which then leads to more developers wanting to join in. Breaking into this cycle is a major problem in Web3, because finding the best decentralized applications (DApps) can be hard for users, and builders often struggle to get enough users interested. To tackle this problem and get its ecosystem rolling, Algorand is launching Algoland, a 13-week online quest campaign that aims to help both new and current users explore the best DApp ecosystem through fun challenges and a prize pool filled with rewards. The campaign ran from September 22 to December 29 and turned online activities into a game. Its main aim was to expand the Algorand ecosystem by showing Web3 users its advantages, such as user-friendliness, no traffic issues, and immediate outcomes. The process is straightforward. Users just need to connect their wallet, join the campaign, and start taking on quests.

Each week brings a new “Challenge” focusing on a different topic, like DeFi or gaming. To finish a Challenge, users need to complete several onchain “Quests”, which are tasks like swapping a token or creating an NFT. Finishing quests earns points, which pile up during the campaign and boost chances for winning big prizes. Users who complete all of a week’s Quests and claim their NFT badge will receive weekly prizes. These prizes are unique and varied, ranging from a free trip to Devconnect to a 3D printer, and even a tattoo. On January 4, 2026, three grand prizes will be given to participants who have gathered points during the campaign. Users can also get extra points by inviting friends with a referral link, which boosts the chances for both them and their friends to win a grand prize. Each week of the Algoland campaign focuses on a different theme, highlighting the variety within the Algorand ecosystem. Algoland serves as a strategic plan created to guide users through a lively digital world. By making online activities more like a game, Algorand is providing a fun and rewarding way for users to find new applications while helping developers attract the active community they need for sustainable building.
